A Success story without comparison 

The Jalas story began in 1916 with a small tannery in the village of Jokipii, in Jalasjarvi, Finland. The location remains the same, although over the decades an international company with exports at present to more than 20 countries has evolved out of the smallscale production.

From the very outset, Jalas' success has relied on the ability to adapt to changes in society and the market. Ski boots were included in the product range in the 1940s and the selection of athletic shoes was further expanded in the 1970s. The framework for today's operations was created in the mid-1980s when Jalas acquired the athletic and safety footwear lines of the Aaltonen shoe factory.

Today, a quarter of a centure later, the Jalas range covers occupational and safety footwear and special insoles for various sectors. The factory's own experts together with a network of international partners are responsible for product development.
